About Mudhexe Ceramics
Hi! I’m Amber, a ceramic artist from Fort Worth, Texas. I’m a fat, queer Scorpio and my main influences are nature, surrealism, and folk art.
You might be asking, what does Mudhexe mean? Hexe is the German word for witch and it’s the best way to describe how I feel when I’m creating with clay. There’s something so satisfying about sculpting a handful of mud into whatever my imagination can come up with. It feels like magic in more ways than one.
As to how it all started, I learned a lot from my first ceramics teacher, a woman named Mrs. Scott who ran a studio out of her basement in Dighton, Kansas. Those lessons introduced me to the world of ceramics at a young age. A few years ago I started painting slip cast pieces again, and while in quarantine I expanded my knowledge to learning how to make my own creations from clay to completed functional pieces.
I’m so excited to continue learning and growing in ceramic arts and I appreciate all your support!

Lessons, Classes and Workshops
Lessons are a chance to learn hand building 1 on 1. Together we will come up with projects and goals on your time-frame. Lessons are $50 per hour. To assure you get at least 1 piece to take home, scheduling at least 2 lessons is recommended. Please reach out via email at mudhexe@gmail.com to learn more and schedule your lessons.
Classes are a chance to learn a new skill or technique over a period of time. They take place over a number of weeks depending on the project. Prices will vary depending on the length and complexity of the project.
Workshops are a one time event that take 1-3 hours and vary in price.
Due to a full and busy schedule, cancellations are not accepted. That being said, sometimes I am able to fill a spot if something comes up in your life. I cannot guarantee it, but I might be able to fill your spot or reschedule you for another time or event. Refunds and rescheduling requests should be made via email at mudhexe@gmail.com
Shipping
Items will be shipped within 5 business days of ordering.
I offer free local pick up for anyone who is willing to travel to Fort Worth to save the cost and time of shipping.
If multiple items are ordered, I will do my best to combine shipping whenever it is safe to do so, and will refund any excess shipping to save you money. However, if the items can’t be shipped safely together, all shipping charges will still apply.
I use high quality shipping boxes and biodegradable cornstarch packing peanuts and wrap everything in paper or cardboard. I use packing techniques many ceramic artists swear by, and it is my top priority to get your pieces to you intact.
Please inspect your order carefully as soon as it arrives. Accidents can happen in shipping, however, all packages will have insurance. If anything is lost or damaged, please photograph the packaging and the pieces and contact me right away for further steps to receive your refund.
Due to the unique nature of handmade ceramics, I am unable to send out replacements immediately. Ceramics take time and each piece is unique. If you would like a similar piece to the item you originally ordered, please let me know so I can make sure I have a similar item for you at the next launch that you can purchase if you wish to.
Please be aware that I am not responsible for shipping delays and cannot offer any refunds if an item arrives late.
If you have any concerns about shipping, please feel free to reach out with any questions before placing your order.
Returns and Refunds
Cancellations are accepted within 24 hours of placing your order.
Returns will be accepted if requested in 10 days of receiving your order and shipped back within 20 days of receiving your order. You are responsible for the cost of shipping items back to me.
You will receive a refund, minus the cost of shipping, once I receive the order in it’s original condition. I cannot issue a refund for items returned to me damaged.
I do not offer returns on custom pieces or digital downloads.
Please remember every piece is handmade with love in my home. There might be some small cracks, pinholes, crazing or other small imperfections that are common in handmade ceramics.
